The owner of a building is generally also the owner of a collective water supply installation. According to the Dutch Drinking Water Act, this means they have a duty of care regarding legionella prevention. Many owners are unaware that, in addition to showers, other outlets can also create aerosols and therefore pose a potential risk. Examples include high-pressure cleaners, outdoor taps, humidification equipment, handheld showers, mixing taps, and fire hose reels.

Our inspectors distinguish themselves through an approach that not only focuses on ensuring a safe and properly functioning water supply system, but also on minimising control measures and operational costs.

For the HVAC discipline, assignments carried out in accordance with BRL 6010 included:

  • Installation inspections based on the Waterwerkbladen, NEN 1006, and the current versions of ISSO 55.1 and 55.2

  • On-site assessments

  • Various temperature measurements and time recordings on site

  • Photographic documentation using a thermographic camera in hard-to-reach areas or for embedded pipelines

  • Mapping of existing installations

  • Preparing, where applicable, a list of key points and a work description after consultation with the client

Based on this work description, the client’s own maintenance department or an installation contractor can carry out the required and/or recommended installation modifications. After completion of the work by the maintenance department or contractor, the installations are re-inspected. Based on this inspection, the risk analyses and risk management plans required by ISSO 55 are drawn up, including the corresponding drawings and diagrams.

All of the above activities are carried out by our own certified legionella prevention specialists, in accordance with the current BRL 6010 standard.

Delmeco Consulting and Engineering Agency is certified in accordance with BRL 6010 and therefore authorised to inspect both non-priority and priority installations and to prepare the corresponding documentation.

Delmeco’s responsibility within these projects includes inspection, supervision of the required installation modifications, and delivery of management plans with the associated risk analyses, schematics, and drawings. These activities are performed in accordance with the current requirements of ISSO 55.1 and 55.2, as well as the applicable provisions of the Dutch Drinking Water Act and the Drinking Water Decree.
